Brunch with Santa – Dec 12, 2021
We’ve got some great news to share – first, the school has been approved by the county to hire a Full Time Marine Science teacher. Yay! However, this will not be a county paid position. We need your help more than ever as Principal Norvell has asked the WBS Foundation to cover the cost (cue the fundraising!) of hiring the full-time Marine Science teacher. Our school is special for so many reasons but our Marine Science program is what sets us apart. WBS needs this and we can all work together to make it happen!
With that said, our other good news is that our Brunch with Santa will be held at Bluewater Grill again this year and we hope our WBS families can join us for this fun event.
To allow for more people to attend and enjoy this event, we are offering two options this year – the full brunch buffet option or a continental breakfast option. Each of these will be held at different times.
Also, we are looking for not only corporate sponsorships but also family sponsors to help cover the cost of this event so that we can put more funds towards our goal. Please find the sponsorship and ticket options below.
Sponsorship Opportunities:
_____Santa Sponsor $750 donation to cover the cost of our Guest of Honor; receives admission for 1 family to event.
_____Gold Sponsor $500 donation to cover the cost of some adult beverages to be served complimentary at the Full Brunch event; receives admission for 1 family to event.
_____Silver Sponsor $250 donation to cover the cost of various stations including Cookie Decorating, Crafts, Letters to Santa station, and Hot Chocolate
_____Bronze Sponsor $100 donation to cover the cost of our Raffle Items, Continental breakfast options, or coffee bar
Ticket Options: *availability is limited for both options*
Option 1: $50 per family
9:00-10:00 – light Continental Breakfast (pastries, fruit, etc), Photo Op and visit with Santa, coffee and hot chocolate, letters to Santa.
Option 2: $35 per adult; $25 per child
10:30-12:30 – Full Brunch Buffet, Photo Op and visit with Santa, coffee and hot chocolate, cookie decorating and crafts, letters to Santa.
*1 drink ticket included for each adult ticket purchased*

Virtual Silent Auction
Register NOW and start bidding tomorrow, May 13th. Help us raise the last remaining funds to Roof the Dock over the summer. All bidding is virtual and you can even buy 50/50 raffle tickets. Share with any family and friends as this is open to anyone. Happy Bidding!

Fall Mum Sale
We know you all will buy beautiful mums for the fall so why not support the Foundation and our sweet school at the same time? We need your help more than ever this year with the uncertainty around our normal fundraising events. We had to cancel our main fundraiser back in April, the Spring Soireé…and we hope we won’t have to do that this year. In August, Principal Norvell made us aware of a need for an additional TA for our K/1 grades as there were not enough provided by the county for each of those classes. The Foundation voted to fund that very important, additional TA for this school year – that is $38,000…so we need your help! Thank you for helping us make this school year a success no matter what the circumstances.

WBS Bricks for SALE
In our first round of brick sales, school families and our surrounding community loved the opportunity to be a part of WBS history. There will be a limited number of additional bricks for sale and all orders must be placed before Friday, September 24th, 2021. Bricks can be laser engraved with up to THREE LINES of text. Each line can include up to TWENTYCHARACTERS (including spaces and punctuation). The cost is $150 a brick and includes engraving and installation.

Annual Fundraiser – Spring Soireé – April 25th
Please come join the WBS Foundation for our annual spring fundraiser on the evening of April 25th at Marine Max Wrightsville Beach. Sponsorships and tickets are available.
It will be a fun night of dinner, dancing, drinks and a beautiful sunset while checking out some amazing yachts at Marine Max. We will also have some great silent auction packages for you to bid on.

Remember, all proceeds from this event will benefit our beloved school – the goal of the WBS Foundation is to step in and help with any HR needs that might arise. We currently fund one of the school’s teacher’s assistants as well as a tutor. This is an area that the PTA is unable to help with – they are prohibited from paying for HR needs. But the WBS Foundation, a 501c3, is not. So we need your help to make sure WBS is never lacking in this area!
Brunch with Santa – Dec 8th
Please join us for our 2nd annual Brunch with Santa on Sunday, December 8th from 10-12 p.m. at Bluewater Waterfront Grill. Our first ever brunch was such a hit last year that we decided to bring it back. Tickets are $25 and will include a full brunch buffet, unlimited visits with Santa (take your own pictures!), a hot chocolate bar, and cookie decorating for the kids. Grandparents are welcome to join as well. Just make sure everyone has a ticket. All proceeds benefit the WBS Foundation which 100% benefits WBS.

Welcome Back!
We are so excited to have the 2019-2020 school year off to a great start. We’d love to tell you more about the WBS Foundation, what we do, and how we work closely with the school and the PTA to make sure WBS has everything it needs to help our students thrive.
PTA’s Parent Palooza will be held on Tuesday, October 1st from 5:00-6:30 at the school. It’s important to attend because you will head to the classrooms to discuss curriculum, what is expected of your children, and what you can do to help them along the way.
After that, please join us at Johnny Luke’s for some complimentary appetizers. This will be a time to socialize with our teachers and staff as well as fellow WBS parents. So, feel free to buy your child’s teacher a drink to say thank you 🙂
This is the perfect way to see exactly what WBS has to offer, how you can get involved and what we can all do together to keep WBS the best. So grab a sitter and come learn about WBS, the PTA, and the Foundation all in one night!
